CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC) will hold the IV Edition of the Workshop “Frontiers in Plant Biology” between April 17th-19th 2024

Thirteen leader researchers from various international institutions of excellence will participate in the Workshop. They will present their scientific advances in different areas of plant sciences, biotechnology, and synthetic and computational biology.

Next April 17th – 19th 2024 the IV Edition of the Workshop Frontiers in Plant Biology will be held at CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC). The workshop organized within the frame of Severo Ochoa (SO) Program is divided into 4 scientific sessions focused on research advances in Plant adaptation to environmental changes and Synthetic and computational biology.

As there are limited seats for attendance it is mandatory to previously register by filling out the online form: registration closed. The attendance is free of charge. PhD students are very welcome to present a poster (with a pre-submission of Abstract) for an open discussion with Workshop attendants and Keynote speakers.

About the CBGP

The mission of the CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC) is to carry out fundamental and strategic research within the field of plant biology and the microorganisms that interact with them. The research carried out by the different groups of the Center is aimed at understanding, from a multidisciplinary point of view, essential processes such as plant development, their interaction with the environment and the molecular mechanisms that regulate plant nutrition. Likewise, the CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC) is developing new computational biology and genomics tools to achieve these objectives and to understand the complexity of biological diversity. The acquisition of basic biological knowledge is essential to combat the challenges facing agricultural and forestry production and should contribute to the development of new biotechnological solutions. The CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC) also has a relevant training role, being a reference center for the training of young scientists and Master and Degree students in the areas of Plant Biotechnology and Genomics. The CBGP (UPM-INIA/CSIC) is a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence, having obtained this seal of excellence from the Ministry of Science and Innovation twice (2017-2021 and 2022-2025).
