Dr. Maria J. Harrison has been nominated as the new member of the External Advisory Board of the CBGP

Dr. Maria J. Harrison is the William H. Crocker Professor at the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research. She also holds an Adjunct Professorship in the Department of Plant Pathology and Plant Microbe Biology at Cornell University.

 

CBGP warmly welcomes Dr. Maria J. Harrison as a new member of the External Advisory Board (EAB) of the CBGP. She received her bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne (UK) and Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Applied Molecular Biology from the University of Manchester, Institute of Science and Technology (UK). She is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and of the American Academy for Microbiology and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences.

 

Dr. Maria J. Harrison’s research program focuses on the arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis with the goals of understanding the molecular basis of its development and the mechanisms underlying nutrient transport and regulation of the symbiosis.
