”La Caixa” Banking Foundation, which firmly believes that scientific progress, research, mobility and professional qualification are key to the development of society, is launching the doctoral fellowship program INPhINIT Incoming".
La Caixa INPhINIT Incoming Fellowships are dedicated and offered to early-stage researchers of any nationality to pursue their PhD studies in research centers accredited with the Spanish Seal of Excellence Severo Ochoa, María de Maeztu or Health Institute Carlos III and Portuguese units participating in the program.
Fellowship highlights
- 3 years contract
- Candidates cannot have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in Spain for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the deadline for application.
- Program includes a training programme on transversal skills aiming in widening the chances for personal development, not only in academia, but also in industry.
- Candidates must be in the first four years of their research career and must not have previously obtained a PhD degree or be in a position to apply for one
- Candidates must accredit an advanced level of English (B2 or higher) with a certificate accepted by La Caixa Foundation.
- Competitive salary with additional amount for research costs and a €7500 prize for fellows who deposit the thesis within 6 months after the third year of the fellowship has ended

How to apply?
Candidates must apply using the online application platform available in the “Fellowships” section on the ”la Caixa” Foundation website by selecting “CBGP-UPM-INIA - Centro de Biología y Genómica de Plantas” in the research centre field and choosing one of the CBGP projects.

About CBGP (UPM-INIA)
The Centro de Biotecnología y Genómica de Plantas (CBGP, UPM-INIA/CSIC) is a joint research centre of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and the Instituto Nacional de Investigación y Tecnología Agraria y Alimentaria (INIA), recently integrated as National Centre in the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Since 2017 CBGP is a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence and has been recently awarded a new SO accreditation for the period 2022-2025. The strategic objectives of CBGP are the generation of fundamental knowledge on the genetic and molecular bases of key biological and physiological processes in plants and plant-interacting organisms, and on genomics of plants and plant-interacting organisms. The Centre also aims to develop new Computational Biology technologies for the functional analysis of plants/microorganisms. CBGP has attracted many talented scientists since its foundation, including tenure-track positions, ERC Starting Grants, as well as CM Atracción de Talento, Beatriz Galindo and Ramon y Cajal researchers.
