The Microscopy service currently has two confocal microscopes, devices for embedding and cutting paraffin samples, as well as stereomicroscopes and fluorescence microscopes for viewing samples. The equipment is regularly updated to include the latest technology.
The Microscopy service offers users trining in the use of laboratory equipment, simple preparation, and image capture. In addition, it routinley perroms maintenance and cleaning of the equipment.
Confocal laser scanning Microscopy
Leica TCS-SP8 Spectral Confocal Microscope: inverted confocal microscope with four laser lines (405, Ar (458, 488, and 514 nm), 561, 633 nm). Four spectral detectors, of which two are PMT detectors and two are HyD detectors. It also allows transmitted light observation.
Zeiss LSM 880 confocal microscope with Fast Airyscan module: vertical confocal microscope with 6 laser lines (405, 488, 458, 514, 561, and 633 nm). It has 3 spectral PMT detectors and an Airyscan module that allows resolutions of up to 120 nm to be obtained. It allows the observation of transmitted light.
