CBGP scientists participate in the kickoff meeting of the Marie Curie Spain-Portugal chapter

The recently created Spain-Portugal Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association met at the Centre for Research of Agricultural Genomics CRAG on January, 26th to 27th. This meeting was the kickoff for this Chapter’s activities and hosted scientists from Spain and Portugal in the areas of Life, Environmental, Social Sciences, Chemistry and Engineering. This Chapter is an interactive platform which brings together scientists from the Marie Curie Alumni Association and it is funded by the European Commission.

During this meeting The Spain Portugal Chapter defined its priorities as those aimed to promote and strengthen European Science by:

  • Fostering cooperation and dissemination of ideas among Marie Curie Alumni. The goal is to identify synergies, promote the establishment of groups and create an information network about job opportunities, calls and any other relevant news.
  • Giving feedback to the European Commission on Marie Curie Actions. This will allow Marie Curie alumni convey concerns and experiences on their scientific reality and career development to the European Commission.
  • Expand the Marie Curie Alumni scientific network by attracting Marie Curie Alumni and promote new funding opportunities.
  • Getting science closer to society. The Chapter will organize a Fascination for Science Day as an open day for the public including workshops, informative talks and guided visits.
