On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (February 11, 2020), the Center for Plant Biotechnology and Genomics, CBGP (UPM-INIA), organizes the first contest of drawing and short stories, and the CBGP S3-Forum on “ WOMEN AND GIRL'S DAY IN SCIENCE: R&D for a more sustainable agriculture and food quality”.
In this event (see program), three researchers from our research center, at different stages of their scientific careers (including Dr. Pilar Carbonero, first woman to be a member of the Royal Academy of Engineering of Spain), will motivate your students with their professional experience as researchers and the contributions of their discoveries to food production and the development of a more sustainable agriculture (see their profiles here). In addition, participants will have the opportunity to visit the facilities of CBGP, one of the Severo Ochoa Centers of Excellence of Spain, and to know personally the technologies and advances the centre is making in the field of agriculture, food and biotechnology.
The CBGP also organizes the I Contest of Drawing and Short Stories "Women and Girls in Science: R&D for a more sustainable agriculture and food quality ". The contest rules are collected here. The deadline for submitting proposals ends on Friday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. Three prizes will be awarded for the three best drawings, three prizes for the three best short stories, and two special prizes for Institutes / Colleges. Participants in the contest will be able to attend the event of February 11 at the CBGP (UPM-INIA) together with their teachers, and during the same the drawings, stories and Institutes / Colleges awarded will be communicated.
