Automated design and implementation of a genetic circuit

The design and implementation of Boolean logic circuits in microorganisms is a fundamental part of synthetic biology. We use design software tools to build a NOR logic gate in the bacteria , and show it performs as expected without error-prone iteration. We highlight the benefits of optimizing design tools to each organism.
