ON THE ROAD TO MAKING CEREALS ABLE TO USE NITROGEN FROM THE AIR

CBGP (UPM-INIA) researchers have gone a step further towards the transfer of nitrogenase genes to plants. This could enable, for example, cereals capable of growing thanks to the incorporation of nitrogen from the air, which would reduce the need of nitrogen fertilization.
